Baloo Bears (0-2 years)
Here in the Baloo Bear room the children's age range is 0-2 years old. This is the room for the youngest children in the nursery. This room is appropriate for younger children to explore their surroundings in a safe environment whilst developing at different rates. There is plenty of soft space for babies to have tummy time, this helps them to develop their strength to prepare them to start to crawl around, they have enough room to start to be able to roll over and strengthen their legs. When they are able to sit up we have comfy mats and cushions to give them a safe space to sit in. When children are at the 'cruising stage' of walking we have secure furniture for them to pull themselves up on and side step along. In the Baloo room we have walkers and push along toys to encourage children to build up their strength and confidence.
We assist younger children with weaning, enabling them to have the time to feed themselves finger foods . We encourage the babies to sit together at meal times, we have high chairs and a wooden table and chair set for the older children. Meal times are a nice time to be social and to all get together and learn new skills.
